The revival of qanbûs playing in Yemen during the last years

Since the beginning of the 2000's, the monoxyle lute

qanbûs, which was almost not played anymore, was

subject to a reappropriation by a new generation of

young musicians as Ahmed al-Tashshi and Mohammed al-Hijrî, and also thanks to lute maker

Fuâd al-Gu'turi.
